I think the relationship between Lennie and George is a mother son relationship because George takes care of Lennie. For example when George take Lennie's work card. George knew that Lennie would loose it, so he took it away from him. It is like a mother taking away something important from her son knowing that if she let him have it he would lose it. Another example is when George tells him about the house that they are going to buy. George is basically calming Lennie as if it was a tale. It is like a mother saying a fairy tale to her son before bedtime. That is my opinion of their relationship after the dialouge between George and Lennie
