My opinion to Georges decision is that he made the wrong choice because when Lennie was in the fight he didn’t know what to do or what to say to Curley, the only words that came out of his mouth were “Please George mike him stop, make him stop”, while covering his face. If Slim would have interfered with the fight he could have stopped it without anything happening to Curley or Lennies face not having been bruised. Slim is a nice guy and tried to help Lennie showing us that he has compassion for him because he wasn’t doing anything and Curley smacking him in the face for no reason. Since George and Lennie have been on the farm Curley has been giving Lennie a hard time not paying any attention to George making George mad at him because of his attitude towards both men. Also George wanted Lennie to do something in the fight because he knew that Lennie being very strong and all could really hurt Curley badly. But he didn’t know that Lennie would break every bone in Curley’s hand making it that he would never be the same guy he had been before the incident.
