At this point of the story i give George more sympathy than Lennie. George had to make the decision whether to let Lennie go to jail for life or to kill him. It would have been that George killed Lennie. It would have been like what happened to Candy and his dog. It was better that George killed Lennie instead of someone else. Lennie should have taken George's advise and stay away from curlet's wife.
