At this point in the story the character I have the most sympathy for is George. The reason why I have the most sympathy for him is because he has to deal with Lennie all the time. Every time they come close to getting the dream Lennie ends up getting in trouble and messing it up. At the end of this novel George kills Lennie because he is tired of the same situation happening over and over again, since George has to kill his companion and he has to live with that guilt for the rest of life. George had to do what he did because of all the things Lennie has done like killing innocent things and hurting people for one reason because everything he ruins has to do something with it being soft. Sometimes Lennie doesn’t even know what he is doing is wrong he forgets very quick. But in the end George is going to get the most sympathy.
